Identifying psychological type gives a snap shot of the preferred behaviour that comes almost unconsciously to most people.

Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument (HBDI®) measures thinking preference.

Herrmann International’s Whole Brain Technology® focuses on showing people how to use their entire brain—not just the parts with which they feel most comfortable. It is scientifically designed to help people learn to think better.

The underlying premise is:  if I understand how I think, I can understand and change the set of behaviours that reflect that thinking.   This is highly useful in the context of emotional intelligence – where intelligence is defined as the ability to choose the most appropriate behaviour for a particular context.

DiSC

DiSC®   is a profiling tool to describe human behaviour in various situations, that is, how one is likely to behave in a certain environment.

DiSC measures the attributes or qualities of an individual, for example, how one responds to challenges, influences others, one’s preferred pace
and compliance to rules and procedures. DiSC is an acronym for the four
primary dimensions of behaviour:

  • Dominance – direct, results-oriented, strong-willed and forceful
  • Influence – outgoing, enthusiastic, optimistic and lively
  • Steadiness – even-tempered, accommodating, patient and humble
  • Conscientiousness – analytical, reserved, precise and systematic
